Job summary

ProServeIT is seeking a Senior IT Operations Specialist to ensure stability, performance, and reliability of enterprise IT systems in a Canada-based, remote-capable role. You will act as a technical escalation point and lead incident response, automation opportunities, and lifecycle management across infrastructure and identity services.

The position requires 5+ years in IT operations, strong Windows/Linux experience, and hands-on AD/Azure AD/Microsoft 365 knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure support.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with ITIL concepts.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs).
• Experience with monitoring, backup, and recovery tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Microsoft, VMware, or cloud certifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• The ability to manage incidents calmly in high-pressure situations.
• The ability to work independently and lead by influence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and operational discipline.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• Preferred Certifications: ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, or cloud-related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee high availability, performance, and reliability of IT systems and services.
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex technical and operational issues.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and service restoration efforts.
• Proactively monitor systems, logs, alerts, and dashboards to detect and resolve issues.
• Manage system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle activities.
