Job summary

BDO Canada LLP is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to work on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to drive data-driven decisions. You will develop ML and NLP solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement AI agents and predictive models for productivity gains.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years’ experience in building and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Expertise in Python data science libraries like Pandas, matplotlib, NumPy, and Scikit-Learn.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases is essential.
• Knowledge Git for version control and collaborative development, ensuring code is well-documented.
• Experience training custom transformer models like Llama and Mistral.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP for model deployment.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and transform large datasets for analysis.
• Build custom ML models and NLP systems using state-of-the-art techniques.
• Leverage TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and Nvidia Triton to develop large language models.
• Train, evaluate, and optimize models for accuracy, explainability, and ethics.
• Communicate results to stakeholders via visualizations, reports, and presentations.
• Monitor models and data pipelines in production for quality and reliability.
• Stay up to date on advancements in deep learning, NLP, and related AI methods.
