Cowan Litigation is a boutique commercial litigation firm in Canada, with a primarily remote role and occasional in-person court or client meetings in Toronto or Vaughan. The Senior Commercial Litigation Lawyer will handle matters end to end as the lead attorney, collaborating with colleagues on strategy and delivering high-quality work.

Licensed Ontario lawyer with 5+ years of experience is required; strong judgment and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial litigation experience in Ontario.
• Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario, in good standing.
• Comfort running files independently, including client management, pleadings, examinations, motions, and mediation.
• Strong judgment, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Experience in construction or franchise litigation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary lawyer on files from intake through resolution.
• Work directly with clients and run matters end to end.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategy and ensure best outcomes for clients.
