Job summary

Altis Technology is partnering with a nationally recognized nonprofit to lead financial operations from a remote Canada-based position. You will supervise a finance team, oversee accounting, reporting, audits, and internal controls to ensure financial excellence and strategic decision support.

The role requires 5+ years in financial leadership, nonprofit accounting experience, and strong proficiency with PeopleSoft and Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive financial management and accounting in a leadership role.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and project-based financial management.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, audit management, and month-end/year-end close.
• Proficiency with PeopleSoft and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA designation or equivalent is an asset.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals through coaching, mentorship, performance management, and development.
• Oversee financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting records, internal controls, and timely month-end and year-end closes.
• Manage the annual audit process and support external financial statements and organizational reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, cash management, payroll accounting, and financial reconciliations while ensuring compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and implement automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with leaders to support budgeting, project accounting, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making.
