Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to lead day-to-day financial operations for a nonprofit organization in Vancouver. You will oversee general ledger work, payroll, and financial controls while guiding budgeting and reporting to the Board.

The role requires CPA designation, 6+ years of accounting experience (fund accounting preferred), and strong leadership. This is a full-time, on-site position in Metro Vancouver with a focus on compliance and financial integrity.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree.
• CPA designation is required.
• 6+ years progressive accounting experience; nonprofit/fund accounting preferred.
• 3+ years as financial controller with supervisory experience.
• GAAP knowledge and nonprofit accounting standards essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and provide senior-level financial and budget planning support.
• Maintain the Association’s system of accounts and ensure accurate, timely financial data.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and analysis.
• Oversee financial software administration for full-cycle accounting and payroll.
• Develop and implement financial policies, standards, procedures, and internal controls.
