Job summary

East Coast Credit Union in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Virtual Branch Lending Specialist to grow our digital lending portfolio and serve members with expertise in dealer financing, mortgages, loans, and deposits. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Virtual Branch Lending, the role emphasizes strong member relationships, timely decisions, and collaboration with third party partners.

A diploma in Business or Commerce and five years lending experience are required.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in Business or Commerce, plus minimum five years of lending experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Proven technical ability.
• Experience with Dealer Financing and/or Mortgage Brokerage.
• Bilingual (English & French) would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor online applications from a variety of business lines.
• Process and decision lending requests within short time frames.
• Analyze financial status, credit, and property to determine loan feasibility; approve/decline within limits.
• Compile loan packages and negotiate loan terms.
• Prepare documentation for loan renewals and substitutions of loan securities.
• Proactively identify new products and services to support members' financial goals.
• Provide financial counseling on loan and deposit products; make referrals for planning advice.
• Maintain relationships with third party partners and dealers/mortgage brokers.
• Suggest new procedures for loan and deposit products.
