You will collaborate with senior management to support operations and strategic goals, manage external counsel, and ensure adherence to South African laws. A seasoned lawyer with 6+ years PQE is ideal.

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent.
• Admitted as Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of SA.
• Minimum 6 years post-qualification in corporate and commercial law.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of SA company law and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a well-established entity within the (Industry Sector, e.g., mining, agriculture) sector, is seeking an accomplished Remote Legal Counsel to oversee its corporate and commercial legal affairs. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to work from anywhere in South Africa, with a particular interest in candidates who may have connections to Kimberley, Northern Cape. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice on corporate governance, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and potential transactions. You will collaborate closely with senior management and business teams to support the company's operations and strategic goals. This role is ideal for an experienced lawyer seeking to leverage their expertise in a flexible, remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, service contracts, and joint venture agreements.
• Advise on legal aspects of business operations, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
• Support any potential mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, including due diligence and transaction documentation.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and government agencies.

Requirements
