Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant for a 12-month contract in downtown Toronto. The role focuses on AP/AR processing, vendor payments, and month-end close support.

Hybrid work setup with one onsite day per week. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of AP/AR experience and proficiency with Great Plains, coupled with strong analytical thinking and data integrity discipline.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience using Great Plains.
• Requires critical thinking and an analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assign general ledger codes to incoming bills and route through approvals.
• Update financial spreadsheets and central accounting database for data integrity.
• Assist with end-to-end processing of vendor payments.
• Execute vendor disbursements via EFT.
• Balance AP sub-ledger with GL and post adjusting entries.
• Generate and issue outward-bound sales invoices.
• Support monthly close by analyzing balance sheet accounts.
• Draft and maintain SOPs for AP workflow.
• Assist with filing routine consumption tax returns.
• Organize and archive financial documents for audit readiness.
