Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst to manage their end-to-end financial operations for a 14-month contract. You will take ownership of the full Accounts Receivable cycle, banking activities, cash forecasting, and comprehensive financial reporting. Your primary focus will be ensuring impeccable accuracy, strict compliance, and timely financial processing across complex, high-volume transactions.

Responsibilities

• Review and post daily bank transactions.
• Process customer credit memos.
• Investigate deduction discrepancies.
• Lead weekly and biweekly cash forecasting.
• Perform detailed customer account reconciliations.
• Process payroll journal entries.
• Monitor retail‑specific EDI transactions to resolve failed processing or pricing mismatches.
• Execute a rigorous month‑end close within a strict three‑day window.
• Prepare balance sheets.
• Perform bank, rebate, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Manage complex accruals.
• Prepare GST/HST and US tax returns.
• Provide support for annual financial audits, verifying tax filings and ensuring ongoing financial compliance.

Qualifications

• Robust expertise in full-cycle AR processes, accrual accounting, and financial reconciliations.
• Hands‑on experience utilizing major ERP accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex reporting and data validation.
• A solid understanding of navigating retail portals and EDI transactions.
• Independent, highly organized professional with exceptional problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to seamlessly meet tight recurring deadlines while maintaining effective communication with internal teams and external retail partners.

Summary

In this role, you will oversee daily banking and customer deductions, conduct weekly cash forecasting, manage complex reconciliations, and execute a rigorous 3‑day month‑end close process. You will also prepare GST/HST and US tax filings, produce financial reports, manage various accruals (payroll, rebates), and provide year‑end audit support. Moreover, you will navigate retail portals, monitor EDI transactions for errors, and validate large datasets.
