Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a skilled Java Engineer II to join the AutoOps Backend team. You will work on performance and optimization in production, with a flexible location model across Canada.

You will define how customers interact with their data and contribute to feature development. You will implement RESTful services, integrate APIs, and work with the ELK stack, ensuring data consistency and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Java programming experience.
• Knowledge in system design and architecture.
• Experience with designing and implementing RESTful services.
• Familiarity with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
• Experience with operational investigations, resolving stability issues and troubleshooting performance.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable Java code and participate in code reviews.
• Integrate third-party APIs and conduct unit/integration testing; develop ELK stack logic.
• Implement RESTful services for system communication; ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration requirements.
• Address performance or concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and improve productivity.
• Own operational investigations end-to-end until issues are resolved.
• Support our engineers with complex problems.
