Job summary

MATRIX is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic (Journeyperson/Red Seal) to support maintenance and repairs of our heavy equipment at a remote Nunavut camp. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role with a strong emphasis on safety and attention to detail, ideal for a team-oriented technician.

You'll work a Fly-In Fly-Out 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotation, with onsite support from the maintenance team. CAT equipment experience and CAT ET/SIS proficiency are highly valued, and Arctic exposure is a

Qualifications

• Licence: Interprovincial Red Seal / Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
• 3–5 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience.
• CAT equipment experience required; mining equipment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating.
• Install component upgrades, manage corrosion, and complete winterization procedures.
• Repair and overhaul components, bearings, gears, valves and oil systems; adjust electricals.
• Test drives to verify performance and adjust controls; maintain repair records.
• Work in remote sites outside a typical shop; uphold safety practices.
