Job summary

Matrix Mechanical is seeking a Journeyman/Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (or 2nd–4th year apprentice) with at least 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy mobile and underground production equipment. The position is based in Nunavut with charter travel from Montreal.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing breakdowns, and keeping accurate service records, with on-site safety and coordination with supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy mobile and underground production equipment.
• Experience on Sandvik LH514/LH517 Loader and TH551 Truck and UG development equipment.
• Journeyman/Red Seal is an asset; Welding experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns to support production.
• Complete mechanical and hydraulic repairs as required.
• Inspect and maintain critical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
• Follow site safety procedures, policies, and work instructions.
• Coordinate with supervision and operations regarding equipment readiness and downtime.

Location: Nunavut, Canada
Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (168 hours per rotation)
Travel: Paid flights (charter out of Montreal) | Hotel provided | Per diem for travel days

Matrix Mechanical is seeking a Journeyman/Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (or 2nd/3rd/4th-year apprentice) with a minimum of 3 years strong hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy mobile and underground production equipment. This position is located in Nunavut with charter travel from Montreal.

Equipment Experience Required: Technicians must have experience on the following equipment:

• Sandvik LH514 / LH517 Loader
• Sandvik TH551 Truck
• Sandvik production drilling equipment
• Maclean UG development equipment
• Bolters
• Cassette truck (and similar UG development units)

• Apprentices may be considered (2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year) where experience aligns with the required equipment background
