Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist focused on genomics for a fully remote role. You will lead a team of data scientists and bioinformaticians, shape research directions, and translate complex data into actionable insights for accelerated discovery and therapy development.

You will guide cross-functional projects, design advanced ML models, and communicate results to stakeholders while fostering a high-performing remote team.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in a quantitative field with genomics focus.
• 7+ years in data science with genomics/bioinformatics emphasis.
• Proven leadership of technical teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of ML models for genomic data.
• Mentor a team of data scientists and bioinformaticians.
• Collaborate with geneticists, biologists and clinicians.
• Oversee robust analytical pipelines for WGS, WES, RNA-seq.
• Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay updated on advances in data science and genomics.
