Job summary

The College of Early Childhood Educators is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, audit, payroll, benefits, accounts payable and bookkeeping. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll perform bookkeeping, payroll processing with a third-party provider, benefits changes, and monthly reconciliations.

You will assist with budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning while keeping up-to-date with Canadian financial reporting

Qualifications

• Four-year university program in Finance or Accounting.
• Enrolled in Canadian Payroll Association program.
• 2–3 years of experience including accounting, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting/analysis, and audit.
• Knowledge of Canadian financial reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting and payroll software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform bookkeeping activities for the College.
• Liaise with payroll provider to administer payroll runs; prepare and reconcile entries.
• Handle benefits enrolments and changes; reconcile benefits.
• Respond to payroll/benefits inquiries, with HR as needed.
• Support the annual audit.
• Process member payments and transactions.
• Investigate issues with member payments.
• Provide updates to the Registration Department.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc financial reports.
• Assist Finance Manager with budgets and forecasts.
• Develop long-term financial plans and analyze impact on finances.
• Stay updated on applicable legislation and practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
