Job summary

Aviva Canada is looking for Field Adjusters for the Property Field Claims team. This home-based role covers the Greater Toronto Area, conducting on-site or virtual inspections and handling commercial property claims.

You will collaborate with insureds, brokers and lawyers, evaluate policy and reports, and ensure accurate payments while delivering prompt service. A valid driver license and property insurance experience are required; CIP/FCIP preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years as a Field adjuster handling Commercial lines claims.
• At least 1 year handling first-party commercial claims (building, business income, stock, cargo).
• Customer-focused mindset with timely, fair, and professional claims service.
• CIP or FCIP and other industry designations preferred; CIP for provincial licensing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Completes on site and/or virtual inspections of commercial claims.
• Investigate and negotiate various Commercial Property Claims in accordance with Aviva’s procedures.
• Reconcile and validate vendor estimates for price and scope accuracy.
• Interact with insureds, third parties, witnesses and lawyers to obtain facts.
• Review policy, reports and case law to determine coverage and value of claims.
• Provide guidance to customers, peers and stakeholders on claims status and outcomes.
• Ensure accurate payments to vendors, insureds and experts.
• Review lease agreements to assess obligations and damages.
