Job summary

Tangent Design Engineering is seeking a Project Manager who can bring structure, visibility, and calm momentum to multidisciplinary engineering projects. You will be the primary link to clients, keep teams aligned, and ensure projects move forward while flagging risks early.

This role supports inside sales and handoffs from sales to delivery, helping coordinate opportunities, proposals, and information needed to progress prospective work.

Qualifications

• Experience managing engineering, manufacturing, product development, or technical projects.
• Ownership of scope, schedule, budget, risks, actions and documentation.
• Direct client communication about project realities, timelines, changes and risks.
• Cross-functional collaboration with technical teams, operations, finance, leadership, sales or external stakeholders.
• Experience tracking budgets, forecasts, timelines, change orders, or invoicing inputs.
• Familiarity with project management tools and documented processes.
• Experience supporting proposals, opportunity tracking, client follow-up, or handoffs.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering projects in alignment with Tangent’s proposals and delivery expectations.
• Maintain accurate project schedules, budgets, status updates, and documentation.
• Serve as the primary client contact for project status, schedule, scope updates, budget communication.
• Partner with Technical Project Managers, engineers, Client Relationship Managers, and internal leaders to keep work aligned and moving.
• Identify early signs of scope, schedule, budget, resource, or delivery risk and communicate them before they become bigger problems.
• Support project change orders, invoicing accuracy, project closeouts, and lessons learned.
• Lead internal project meetings, track action items, and make sure follow-through actually happens.
• Support inside sales activities, including opportunity tracking, proposal coordination, client follow-up, gathering project information, and helping move prospective work through the sales process.
• Help create a clean handoff from sales into project delivery so commitments, assumptions, timelines, and client expectations are understood.
• Contribute to improvements in Tangent’s project management, proposal, sales coordination, and client communication processes.
