About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding international consultancy firm, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Remote Corporate Legal Advisor to support its diverse business operations. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in South Africa, providing essential legal counsel on corporate governance, commercial contracts, compliance, and risk management. You will collaborate closely with senior management and various business units to ensure adherence to legal standards and facilitate smooth business operations. Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate law matters, including company formation, statutory compliance, and corporate governance best practices.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, such as service agreements, NDAs, partnership agreements, and supplier contracts.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and mitigate potential risks.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions.
• Support the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
• Manage and liaise with external legal counsel when required.
• Assist with corporate filings and maintain corporate records.
• Advise on data protection and privacy regulations.
• Contribute to the legal aspects of cross-functional projects.
• Stay updated on legal trends and developments relevant to the consultancy sector.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law.
• Strong understanding of South African corporate law and commercial contract principles.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive and detail-oriented with a solutions-focused approach.
• Familiarity with international business practices is an advantage.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and standard office productivity software.
