Job summary

Canada Cartage is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage a portfolio, contact customers for past due balances, and maintain accurate records. The role emphasizes collaboration with Sales, Billing and Operations to resolve issues and optimize cash flow.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of collection experience, a college diploma and/or CIC certification, and strong Excel skills. Remote work options and reconciliation expertise are valued assets.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of collections experience.
• College diploma; and/or CIC certification.
• Strong reconciliation skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• French written and verbal skills are an asset.
• Experience using Great Plains is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Using various techniques, collect on/resolve past due balances on your ledger, as quickly as possible.
• Investigate, identify and resolve customer short payments/deductions and overdue items in a timely manner, gathering necessary approvals to process credits/debits as required.
• Document all collection activity on customer accounts.
• Work with internal departments such as Sales, Billing and Operations to resolve issues and maintain client base.
• Regularly prepare detailed customer reconciliations and statements as required.
