Job summary

Smile Digital Health is seeking a Cloud Engineer (Automation) to design, build, and operate production-grade automation for the Smile platform and clients. You will own build/release, Terraform/Helm provisioning, and automated recovery, working with Platform, Solution Engineering, and Service Operations to remove repetitive work and accelerate deployments.

This role emphasizes AI-assisted engineering, policy-as-code, and cost optimization while maintaining high availability and efficient scaling

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on cloud engineering/DevOps experience.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD on Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, Azure DevOps pipelines, and GitOps delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own build and release engineering; consolidate Azure DevOps pipelines into shared templates.
• Automate environment provisioning and on-demand deployment across Azure services.
• Implement GitOps-based CD with declarative, automated reconciliation and drift detection.
• Automate disaster recovery, backups, and failover with measurable RTO/RPO.
• Harden workloads, ensure health probes, autoscaling, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with Platform, Solution Engineering, Service Operations, and QA teams.
• Document automation work for operational reuse.
