Job summary

Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences seeks a Clinical Informatics Analyst to support, implement and optimize the hospital information system. The role focuses on EHR administration, advanced clinical modules, and collaboration with stakeholders, vendors and technical teams.

The position is 12 months, temporary full-time, with dayshift and a rotating on-call requirement. Located primarily in Whitby, with a mix of remote work and on-site duties to support patient care and system

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in clinical, health science, information technology or health informatics.
  • Undergraduate degree and professional college registration in good standing.
  • Minimum three years in clinical informatics or related field.
  • Experience with workflow redesign and process improvement is an asset.
  • Strong project management, change management and communications skills.
  • Experience supporting healthcare staff using electronic clinical applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support EHR implementation by defining requirements and analyzing workflows.
  • Lead groups designing and re-designing clinical/business processes in the EHR.
  • Champion evidence-based practices and outcome measurement within the EHR.
  • Develop training plans and materials for diverse audiences.
  • Act as a change agent to facilitate adoption of new processes and standards.
  • Promote use of technology to improve clinical workflows and outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of health informatics trends and standards.
  • Manage service standards and drive continuous improvement.
