Job summary

Partner Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance strategy for a fast-growing SaaS business. This executive role blends strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight across planning, accounting, reporting, and capital strategy.

Collaboration with the CEO, executive team, and Board will strengthen financial discipline and scalable systems. The remote, senior role is based in Canada or the United States, with travel to Ottawa and Toronto.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including CFO experience in a scaling business.
• Demonstrated success scaling SaaS or technology companies from ~$50M to >$200M in revenue.
• Deep expertise in FP&A, strategic planning, forecasting, modelling, and performance management.
• Direct experience with late-stage fundraising (Series C, D, or E) or public markets.
• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, recurring revenue models, and tech financial drivers.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, internal controls, and audit oversight.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing finance teams and senior leaders.
• Strong strategic judgment and analytical skills with company-wide perspective.
• Ability to partner effectively with CEOs, executive teams, and Boards.
• M&A experience including due diligence, valuation, and post-close integration is an asset.
• Experience in Canadian business with US/international operations, multi-currency environments, cross-border tax considerations is an asset.
• Must be a Canadian or American citizen or eligible to work in Canada or the United States.
• Willingness to travel to Ottawa and Toronto for require visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A and Accounting functions with clear priorities and timely deliverables.
• Identify process gaps and work with teams to improve operational effectiveness.
• Document core finance processes and introduce automation to reduce manual effort and errors.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial models, and performance analysis; translate insights into action.
• Manage accounting operations, close, audits, reporting, and internal controls.
• Partner with the CEO and Board on financial strategy, capital needs, fundraising opportunities, and investor communications.
• Guide pricing, investments, headcount, and market expansion decisions with financial rigor.
• Lead M&A activities: due diligence, valuation, and post-close integration planning.
• Build and coach a high-performing finance organization aligned to growth.
• Ensure accurate, credible Board materials and forecasting for fundraising or strategic milestones.
