Job summary

Certn is a remote-first company seeking an Associate Product Manager to own smaller product problems with coaching from a Senior Product Manager. You’ll work across Product, Design, Engineering, Operations, Compliance and external data providers to define solutions, support delivery, launch improvements and measure outcomes.

You will partner with Product and Engineering to translate needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, while using AI tools to accelerate research

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in SaaS sales, customer support, account management or other form of direct client engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple defined workstreams with strong organization and follow-through.
• Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Own defined product initiatives from discovery through launch with coaching.
• Translate user and technical needs into product briefs, requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with Design and Engineering to evaluate solutions and readiness.
• Participate in planning, refinement, demos and retrospectives; maintain clear decisions and scope.
• Coordinate and perform product acceptance testing for functionality and data integrity.
• Prepare release notes and product demos; enablement materials.
• Own post-launch follow-up and iterations based on results.
• Investigate customer and operational problems using data and feedback.
• Identify root causes of recurring product-health issues and propose actions.
• Conduct customer, market and competitor research for problem spaces.
• Create user journeys or prototypes to improve understanding.
• Use AI tools to accelerate research and validation.
• Build understanding of background-check fulfillment and IDV workflows.
• Use product and operational data to understand performance and inform prioritization.
• Define and monitor success measures with coaching.
• Identify opportunities to improve completion, turnaround, reliability, and margins.
• Contribute to roadmap planning with high-value improvements.
• Follow up on launched changes to measure outcomes.
• Build relationships across teams and with external data providers.
• Coordinate stakeholder testing and communicate decisions and risks.
• Escalate material risks with clear recommendations.
