Job summary

Lightspeed Commerce is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join the FS Data team in Canada. You will oversee analytics, reporting needs, and data pipelines across Financial Services, collaborating with multiple functions. Strong SQL, Python, and data modeling skills are essential.

The role supports remote, partial remote, or office-based work environments in Canadian time zones, with EST/EDT hours. Knowledge of BigQuery and Looker is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL and Python coding (or equivalent language).
• Experience with MPP data warehouse (BigQuery).
• Experience with dbt or dataform.
• Experience in data profiling, data mapping and data quality validation.
• Experience with data orchestrator and CI/CD processes.
• Understanding of data warehousing and data modelling standards.
• Knowledge of data environments (GCP) and containerization tools.
• Experience in source control and automated testing.
• Security mindset with compliance (SOX, GDPR).
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain data pipelines and data models for analytics needs.
• Collaborate with Central Data Team to ensure quality and accessibility of data.
• Transform raw data into business logic for reports and models.
• Identify data sources to meet business requirements and improve reporting.
• Champion data quality and usability across Financial Services.
• Ensure data availability, quality, and documentation.
• Write clean, well-structured queries and scripts with version control.
• Automate testing of data models and validations.
• Define internal standards for data models and infrastructure.
• Explain intermediate to complex information to teammates.
• Maintain or develop simple Looker reports/dashboards.
