Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a Canadian company to hire a Software Engineer, AI Automation in Canada. You will design, build, evaluate, and deploy AI agents that are integrated into daily workflows of non-technical teams, working with large language models, MCP, agentic workflows, evaluation frameworks, and production systems.

You will own from prototype through production, including permissions, human-in-the-loop controls, auditability, monitoring, and rollback strategies, while collaborating

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development experience shipping production software.
• Experience building applications powered by LLMs, including prompting and multi-step workflows.
• Shipped at least one AI agent or LLM-powered app used by non-engineers.
• Knowledge of safeguards and failure modes for LLM-based systems.
• Experience with agent tooling, MCP, and orchestration against real systems of record.
• Experience building evaluation datasets and using results for quality and production readiness.
• Fluency in Python and SQL with production data models.
• Experience with agentic coding tools and unfamiliar codebases.
• Understanding of Git, CI/CD, containers, and deployment.
• Ability to translate operational needs into reliable technical solutions without a PM mediator.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI-powered applications automating manual processes across teams.
• Translate business processes into reusable AI agent skills.
• Design agentic workflows combining skills, tools, and systems of record.
• Connect agents to internal systems via MCP servers and expand MCP capabilities.
• Define success criteria and evaluation standards with stakeholders.
• Create evaluation datasets and establish performance baselines.
• Take AI agents from prototype to production with governance and rollback strategies.
• Monitor and improve agent behavior with real-world data.
• Document ownership and enable operation by business teams without constant engineering support.
• Partner with data engineers to define data access and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with non-technical teams to translate workflows into technical specs.
• Challenge assumptions using practical AI development experience.
