Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Relief Full-Time Registered Nurse for the Transition Line in the Emergency department at Delta Hospital. The RN will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ED setting, assess and plan care, and collaborate with an interprofessional team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Completion of applicable post graduate course work in emergency, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in emergency.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and collect information to determine care needs.
• Develop and update care plans with patients and families.
• Coordinate nursing care and priorities with the interprofessional team.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and discharge planning.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes according to Fraser Health procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and care coordinators on care decisions.
