Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is hiring a Regular Full Time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey, BC. You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ED, collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current RN registration with BCCNM, post-graduate specialty courses, and BCLS certification. You will participate in rotations through specialty units and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Willingness to complete applicable post graduate specialty nursing courses/programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and collect information to inform nursing diagnoses.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions and care.
  • Collaborate with families to develop and modify care plans.
  • Coordinate nursing care, set priorities, assign tasks to staff.
  • Communicate with interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Educate patients and families about illness prevention and health maintenance.
  • Refer to appropriate health care/community services as needed.
  • Document assessments, plans, outcomes and referrals.
