Job summary

School District No. 73 is accepting applications for a Certified Education Assistant (CEA) Relief roster to support classrooms in Kamloops and surrounding areas. Relief staff visit multiple schools to support staff and students.

The CEA role involves assisting with daily activities, behaviour and self-care support, supervision, and field trips. A Grade 12 + post-secondary coursework and a BC driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with at least 1 year post-secondary education in a related field.
• Two years’ proven experience with diverse abilities, preferably in an educational setting.
• Valid BC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with daily activities and groups of students with diverse abilities.
• Provide support for behaviour goals and self-care needs.
• Observe, monitor, and record progress; provide feedback on program goals.
• Assist with field trips and classroom supervision.
• Follow safe work procedures and OH&S training.

Education

Grade 12 with at least 1 year post-secondary education in a related field

Two years’ proven experience with diverse abilities, preferably in education

Valid BC Driver’s License
