Certified Education Assistants

School District No. 83 (K̓wsaltktnéws ne Secwepemcúl'ecw) is seeking qualified, certified Education Assistants to join our on‑call (spare) roster, supporting schools across the district. This unionized position offers an hourly rate of $28.29 and is scheduled only on days when students are in session. Successful candidates will also have opportunities to apply for internal part‑time and full‑time positions as they become available.

Qualifications Required

• Grade twelve plus the completion of accredited Certified Education Assistant Certificate or equivalent recent experience supporting students with diverse needs (including physical, developmental, behavioural, or learning challenges).
• Minimum of four (4) months' recent successful experience working with children in a structured classroom or program setting.
• Demonstrated ability to respond to students with patience, consistency, and empathy, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Ability to learn and perform personal and specialized care procedures.
• Proven ability to work effectively with teachers, school staff, and support service personnel, often with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement in sensitive situations.
• Strong basic computer skills.
• Physical capability to perform all duties associated with the position.
• Must have a class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle.
