Relief Addiction and Mental Health Worker, Hubs

The London HART Hub is a low barrier recovery-oriented space that aims to support individuals experiencing homelessness with mental health and addiction needs to improve their health and wellbeing. HART Hubs support clients through access to evidence-informed, respectful, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and compassionate care. They connect individuals with a continuum of care, including transitional supportive housing where clients can access safety, basic needs, healthcare, and other mental health and addiction services in one location.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

  • Starting salary: $27.14/hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential based on regulation ($30.01/hour for regulated Level 1)
  • Registered professionals (e.g., OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) will receive the regulated wage differential.
  • External applicants start at Level 1, with progression up to Level 8 ($34.41/hour non-regulated, $37.26 regulated).
  • Internal applicants will be placed according to the Collective Agreement.

Work Schedule: Relief shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Pension Plan: Immediate eligibility for optional enrollment in HOOPP.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Provide a welcoming, safe, and trusting environment for vulnerable individuals through intake, assessment, treatment planning, income and employment support, and supportive housing.
  • Support clients' physical and mental health improvement with integrated care plans covering various needs.
  • Meet clients' basic needs (food, showers, hygiene, rest).
  • Refer clients to additional supports and resources for wellness.
  • Assist in developing care plans, navigating services, and proactive crisis intervention.
  • Conduct one-on-one and group counselling using a strengths-based approach.
  • Support clients involved with the justice system with navigation and collaboration.
  • Assist with transportation needs, including obtaining travel assistance.
  • Provide accessible communication options for clients with diverse needs.
  • Update client records in compliance with standards and privacy laws.
  • Support additional HUB sites as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check: Must be completed within the last six months. Applicants residing in London should apply promptly due to processing times.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (original credentials required during hiring; transcripts accepted for ongoing education).
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with adequate insurance.
  • Ability to attend work regularly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with individuals facing addictions, mental illness, homelessness.
  • Experience in residential/community housing, crisis intervention, working with ABI or developmental disabilities, community resources, certifications like First Aid & CPR, ASIST, CPI.
  • Bilingual in both official languages is preferred.
