Job summary

Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc. is seeking a Reliability Engineer to improve asset reliability and maintenance strategies in the steelmaking division.

You will develop and deploy maintenance plans, lead RCFA investigations, and implement condition-based and predictive maintenance technologies to optimize plant performance. The role requires a degree in engineering and 5+ years in industrial manufacturing, with CMMS expertise and strong collaboration across Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering is required.
  • At least 5 years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with condition-based monitoring (CBM) and predictive maintenance (PdM).
  • CMMS experience, preferably Oracle eAM 12.2, SAP or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor and improve an Asset Management Plan including risk, operating, and maintenance plans for all assets.
  • Deploy, develop, enhance, support and maintain Oracle eAM 12.2 Master Data in the Oracle Database.
  • Develop solutions for recurring failures affecting plant operations (availability, performance, quality, cost, compliance).
  • Perform RCFA on delays, track actions and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and implement CBM/PdM technologies where applicable.
  • Support CAPEX processes and collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Quality and Projects to ensure reliability.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Join Interpro Pipe & Steel as a Reliability Engineer in our Steelmaking division, where you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the longevity and efficiency of our operations. This position offers the unique opportunity to drive innovation by developing and implementing maintenance strategies that ensure optimal equipment performance.

  • Develop, monitor and continuously improve an Asset Management Plan that includes a Risk Management Plan to identify and control risks, an Asset Operating Plan that standardizes processes and procedures for proper operation and an Asset Maintenance Plan to optimize predictive and preventive maintenance programs for all assets
  • Accountable for the deployment, development, enhancement, support and maintenance of all Oracle eAM 12.2 Master Data which resides within the Oracle Database
  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include availability, performance, capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on unscheduled delays exceeding threshold criteria, track associated action items, complete effectiveness evaluation and drive resolution
  • Evaluate and implement condition-based monitoring (CBM) technologies and predictive maintenance (PdM) where applicable (acoustic emissions, alignment, dynamic balancing, infrared thermography, motor circuit analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic, vibration analysis)
  • Support the capital project process (CAPEX) and work with Maintenance, Operations, Quality and Projects to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations
  • Contribute to planning of production capacity based on analysis of preventive maintenance requirements, repair histories and inspection reports
  • Identify potential for cost reduction through extended parts life, reduced labor cost, and other material-related improvement techniques
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • P.Eng considered an asset
  • Experience with condition-based monitoring (CBM) and predictive maintenance (PdM)
  • Intermediate to advanced user within CMMS system (Oracle eAM 12.2 preferred, SAP, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret P&ID drawings (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)
  • Proven teamwork, demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail in the administration of projects
