Job Summary

Job Description

You will provide business and financial advice and manage a portfolio of high-value small business clients who need your help as they start, manage, and grow their enterprises. You will serve as RBC’s ambassador to the local business market. Applying your external marketing and client acquisition skills, you will develop new business for RBC and deepen existing client relationships. Partnering with other RBC advisors and specialists, you will contribute to creating an experience that clients appreciate and value.

What will you do?

  1. Acquire, grow, and deepen client relationships through delivery of tailored, value-added financial advice to meet their needs.
  2. Proactively contact clients, gather insights through discovery, understand their needs and changing circumstances, and ensure ongoing satisfaction with RBC.
  3. Plan and prioritize client and market activities, identify opportunities, and make introductions to RBC partners to fulfill clients’ business and personal financial needs, working as One RBC.
  4. Manage risk and exercise due diligence in all banking procedures; develop appropriate action plans in response to concerns or risks.
  5. Champion digital enablement and advocate for RBC mobile and online applications, enabling clients to engage through their channel of choice.
  6. Visit clients on-site to understand their business objectives and operations, as permitted.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Skills in business development, client acquisition, and prospecting, including leveraging valuable Centres of Influence within the local business community.
  • A proven track record in exceptional client relationship management.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of credit skills, risk assessments, financial analyses, credit structuring/solutions, and deal presentations.
  • Completion of the Associate Account Manager training program, previous experience as a small business owner, or in a similar field.
  • Good knowledge of a broad array of business and personal financial products and services.
