Job summary

A leading company in Canadian agriculture is seeking a passionate Lender to manage relationships with local producers and develop a loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a degree in agriculture, business, or commerce, along with strong communication and analytical skills. Responsibilities include creating and approving new credit facilities and helping customers achieve their financial goals.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of related agriculture finance or sales experience (or equivalent).
  • Professional agrologist designation is an asset.

Salary Range (plus eligible to receive a performance-based incentive, applicable to the position): $71,145 - $96,255

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage relationships with local producers and be responsible for developing a loan portfolio.
  • Work with more experienced lenders to tailor financing packages, including lending and non-lending products, to meet customer needs.
  • Assist customers in building success through financial solutions.
  • Travel to visit customers on their farms or in the office.
  • Analyze customer financial information.
  • Create, process, and approve new credit facilities.
Qualifications:
  • Confident communicator with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to connect and build business relationships.
  • Sales and negotiation skills combined with sound judgment.
  • Self-starter who embraces change.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Degree in agriculture, business, or commerce, with at least one year of related agriculture finance or sales experience (or equivalent). A professional agrologist designation is an asset.
  • Drive to help others achieve their goals.
  • A love for agriculture.
