Reporting to the Manager, the Rehabilitation Assistant works as a member of an interprofessional team assisting clients in the community to achieve their rehabilitation goals and maximize their potential for independence. The Rehabilitation Assistant provides direct and indirect client care under the clinical direction of Rehabilitation Therapists (Occupational, Physical, Speech and Recreation Therapists) following the care plan as determined by the Rehabilitation Therapist(s) and discussing any modifications, changes or progressions to the plan prior to implementation.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Completion of a two year Rehabilitation Assistant Program plus two (2) years recent, related experience; or an equivalent of education, training and experience. Valid BC Driver's licence.
