Job summary

CGL is seeking a Counsel, Client Solutions (Regulatory) to support its property and casualty insurance business. The role provides general legal advice to stakeholders, drafts and negotiates contracts, and guides privacy and compliance initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a JD or LL.B. and at least five years of in-house legal experience in the insurance sector, with familiarity in both personal and commercial lines. This is a hybrid role with two days in the office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of broad and progressive legal experience in the insurance industry.
• Focus on property and casualty insurance, including personal and commercial lines.
• Licensed to practice law in a Canadian province or territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide general legal advice and direction to stakeholders, with emphasis on property and casualty insurance.
• Review, draft and negotiate contracts, insurance policies and endorsements and internal guidelines.
• Support compliance and privacy teams and advise on privacy issues.
