Job summary

First West Credit Union is seeking a Compliance Governance Manager to lead the enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management framework. The role reports to the Director, Compliance & Member Advocacy and provides governance, oversight and guidance across a Three Lines of Defence model.

You will monitor regulatory developments, update the framework, and support governance, reporting, and training initiatives to ensure alignment with OSFI expectations and FCAC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, audit or risk management with relevant experience.
• 5+ years in regulatory compliance, legal or related field.
• Experience supporting governance, issue management, regulatory examinations, attestations and board reporting.
• Expertise of OSFI E-13, FCAC, Bank Act, FATCA and OSFI regulations.
• Bank or federally regulated credit union experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration and change management.
• Understanding of three lines of defence and second-line oversight.
• Laws and regulations translated into internal policies and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead operationalization of the enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management framework.
• Develop governance policies, procedures and controls across the organization.
• Provide oversight and guidance to first- and second-line functions.
• Support regulatory change management and reporting for senior leadership and the board.
• Assist in monitoring regulatory landscape and training programs.
