Job summary

VCA Canada is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to rotate between Landing Animal Hospital and Calgary West Animal Hospital in Calgary, AB. This full-time, permanent position offers mentorship, training, and a community hospital feel.

Ideal candidates have completed a Veterinary Technician program and are eligible for provincial registration, with a willingness to continue education and professional development. Competitive compensation and benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program, with eligibility for registration in the applicable province.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting is an asset.

Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT

Location: Calgary, AB

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Work Locations: Rotating between Landing Animal Hospital and Calgary West Animal Hospital

Landing Animal Hospital and Calgary West Animal Hospital are welcoming a full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT, to join our team. While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training!

• Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program, with eligibility for registration in the applicable province.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
• Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient assessment.
• Ability to safely handle and restrain animals using appropriate techniques.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to animal care.
• Commitment to continuing education and ongoing professional development.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
