Job summary

Wellington Veterinary Services in Elora, ON is seeking a part-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our compassionate and collaborative clinic. This position is approximately 10 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours to cover vacation and sick days.

Our RVTs build positive client relationships, assist veterinarians with medical, surgical and dental procedures, prepare patients and instruments, and monitor medicines under supervision.

Qualifications

• RVT builds positive client relationships with genuine care and compassion.
• Assists Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures using diagnostic equipment.
• Must have completed a 2 or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program and be VTNE-eligible or VTNE-passed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures and monitor patient safety.
• Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for surgery.
• Administer and monitor medicines under the Veterinarian's direction.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients.

Is This Role Right For You?

Our ideal Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions and providing exceptional customer service. The RVT also assists the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures, by using a range of diagnostic equipment, preparing patients, instruments and equipment for surgery; and administering and monitoring medicines under the direction of a Veterinarian.

Our ideal Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) must have passed the VTNE or be eligible to write the VTNE, be in good standing with the provincial regulatory association and successfully completed a 2 or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program. Please note this position is part time.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00/hr
