Dufferin Queen Animal Hospital in Toronto is seeking a Animal Health Technologist/Veterinary Technician to join our team. You will perform lab tests, assist with surgeries, radiographs, meds, and client education in a busy animal hospital.

The role requires 1 year to less than 2 years of experience and registration as a Registered Animal Health Technologist (RHT) or RVT. On-site work with comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
• Registered Animal Health Technologist (AHT) or RVT registration required.

Responsabilités

• Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
• Produce diagnostic radiographs
• Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian
• Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian
• Counsel clients on animal health care
• Conduct and assist in laboratory research
• May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties
• Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
• Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
• Provide wound and bandage care
