Job summary

Avant Respiratory is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in Lethbridge, Alberta. The role involves hands-on patient care during home visits, oxygen and PAP therapy, and sleep consultations, with travel to client sites across the region.

The ideal candidate has an RRT designation, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic, field-based setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist designation required.
• Experience with Oxygen Therapy preferred; PAP Therapy familiarity a plus.
• Class 5 Driver’s License required.
• Professional and friendly interpersonal skills with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task, assess situations and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to learn quickly in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and monitor prescribed respiratory therapy at clients’ homes, including assessments, education, documentation, and follow-up for equipment performance and compliance.
• Deliver and exchange equipment, including lifting up to 60lbs and long-distance travel for home visits.
• Conduct respiratory equipment in-service training with community partners.
• Perform initial oxygen set-up for discharged clients and regular follow-up assessments for oxygen therapy.
• Conduct in-office consultations and comprehensive sleep consultations with patients.
• Communicate effectively with Physicians, administrative staff, Managers and Directors.

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Respiratory Therapist designation required
• Experience or knowledge in Oxygen Therapy is preferred; familiarity with PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) Therapy is a plus.
• Class 5 Driver’s License required.
• Professional and friendly interpersonal skills with strong customer service values and communication skills.
• Good time management skills, ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• Ability to multi‑task, assess situations and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• The ability to quickly learn and understand various processes in a constantly changing environment.
