Job summary

Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada is seeking a Clinical Respiratory Consultant (Respiratory Therapist) to perform comprehensive home-based respiratory assessments, design and adjust treatment plans, and collaborate with care teams to optimize oxygen therapy and sleep-related treatments in Edmonton, AB.

The role emphasizes professional licensure, safety checks, continuing education, and strong communication with clients and physicians.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist with active RRT credential.
• Licensed to practice with CARTA.
• Proficient in cardio-respiratory assessments.
• Valid driver's license.
• Background check for vulnerable persons.
• Healthcare experience is an asset.
• Familiar with MS Office and Google apps.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Follow up with clients to evaluate therapy effectiveness and adherence.
• Assess home environment for safety; perform equipment quality checks.
• Engage with healthcare professionals to provide information and education.
• Maintain knowledge of clinical best practices and funding processes.
• Assist with sleep duties including PAP therapy when prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure patient safety and oxygen therapy delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality care by conducting a full respiratory assessment; diagnostics as applicable; assessing and evaluating test results; delivering of equipment and supplies as required; developing respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with the client, physicians and care teams as per prescription and established company best practices.
• Provides appropriate follow-up to clients to evaluate effects of treatment plan, comfort of client when using treatment and addresses compliance with therapy.
• Assess clients home environment for safety, identifies and addresses areas of concern, and performs equipment quality control checks on a recurring basis.
• Contributes to the growth of Air Liquide Healthcare by liaising with healthcare professionals; providing information/literature to prospective clients; providing demonstration/education of products and services to prospective clients.
• Maintains continuing education and knowledge of clinical best practices.
• Responsible for complying and maintaining knowledge of all funding processes and systems.
• When required participates in sleep duties including initiating PAP therapy when prescribed.
• The RT provides all respiratory services with a focus on providing oxygen therapy, clinical and ventilatory support to the client while collaborating with referring physicians and ensuring patient safety.

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
• Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body (CARTA)
• Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Clear vulnerable persons check
• Previous experience in healthcare field an asset
• Working knowledge of Microsoft, Google applications and Android
