Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to provide and coordinate psychiatric nursing care for patients with mental health challenges in British Columbia. The role emphasizes assessment, stabilization, psycho-social rehabilitation, and collaboration with an interprofessional care team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
• One (1) year recent mental health experience in acute, tertiary or community setting or equivalent.
• Current practicing registration as RN and/or RPN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned clients.
• Develop psycho-social rehabilitative plans with clients and interprofessional team.
• Facilitate individual and group treatment using cognitive, behavioural, educational and crisis intervention methods.
• Provide life skills training and psychoeducation to clients and families.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and interprofessional conferences.
• Maintain safe environment and document care and assessments.
