Job summary

Fraser Health in Surrey, BC is seeking a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to deliver and coordinate psychiatric nursing care for clients in acute crisis. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care with the interprofessional team, providing crisis intervention, education and discharge planning.

This role requires graduation from an approved Nursing Program, current BCCNM registration, and at least one year of mental health experience, First Aid and CPR level C, and a valid BC

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Nursing Program with current practicing registration as a RN or RPN (BCCNM).
• One year of recent mental health/substance use experience in a related setting.
• Standard First Aid and CPR level C and a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Stabilize clients in acute psychiatric or situational crises through supportive counselling and interventions.
• Screen admissions for appropriateness using policy and admission criteria.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with assessments, education and documentation.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the interdisciplinary care team and families.
