Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and review planning reports
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships
  • Manage and stay current on planning policies
  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and authorities for project requirements and approvals
  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff
  • Perform project management tasks as needed

Minimum Requirements
  • University degree in Planning or related field
  • Five years’ experience in land use planning or related services
  • Full member (or eligible) of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software
  • Membership with the Ontario Professional Planning Institute (OPPI) as an RPP
  • Strong critical thinking and report-writing skills
  • Experience presenting before planning committees and preparing variance and amendment reports
  • Experience representing clients at LPAT is an asset
  • Diploma in Engineering Technology (2-year)
  • Interest in construction and engineering
  • Experience with permit drawing packages; AutoCAD required
  • Experience with SketchUp and Layout is an asset
