AgeCare in Ontario seeks a Registered Practical Nurse to provide professional nursing care for residents, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, and to supervise Personal Support Workers on the care team.
You will liaise with physicians, participate in shift reports, and ensure residents’ care needs are met throughout your shift. A valid College of Nurses of Ontario license in good standing is required.
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional nursing practice. The Registered Practical Nurse provides direction to the Personal Support Workers as defined by the College of Nurses Standard of Practice Working with Unregulated Health Care Workers.
A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration. Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada) Health Promotion and Protection Act. Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department. A current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and a member in good standing.

Salary Range: $57,636.00 - $59,958.00 per year Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
