Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Ontario is seeking Registered Practical Nurses to join our care team. RPNs deliver planned, patient-centered nursing care within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring adherence to provincial standards and comprehensive documentation.

You will implement and evaluate care plans, mentor unregulated providers, and collaborate closely with residents, families and staff to ensure compassionate, high-quality care for seniors.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and understanding of the role's demands.
• Teamwork with customers and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, patient-oriented nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.
• Be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team with ongoing communication.
• Implement and evaluate care plans and communicate changes as required.
• Complete and ensure accurate resident assessments, care plans and documentation.
• Teach and mentor unregulated care providers.

• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
