Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide patient-centered nursing care in our retirement residences across Canada. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to implement care plans, monitor residents, and mentor unregulated care providers, while upholding provincial standards and compassionate service.

As an RPN you will contribute to a holistic care approach and ensure high-quality outcomes for residents, families, and teams within Cogir Senior Living

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in the applicable province.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, long-term care asset.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, patient-oriented nursing care per provincial standards.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support residents and families.
• Assess, update care plans and document changes accurately.
• Coach and mentor unregulated care providers.

How YOU make a difference

RPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care.

RPNs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication.

RPNs implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plans and make changes as required.

RPNs complete and ensure resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date and communicate changes as required.

RPNs teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching & mentorship.

What YOU bring

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
