Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking Registered Practical Nurses to provide planned, patient-centered nursing care in our Ontario retirement residences. This role emphasizes compassion, safety, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

RPNs will assess residents, update care plans, document progress, and mentor unregulated care providers to ensure high-quality care for seniors. Cogir values empathy, teamwork, and excellence, offering onboarding, growth opportunities, benefits and vacation time.

Qualifications

• Current registration as an RPN in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/long-term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, patient-oriented nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and communicate with residents, families and teams.
• Implement and evaluate care plans and make changes as required.
• Complete and ensure residents' clinical assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate.
• Teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers with coaching and mentorship.
