Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to provide patient-oriented nursing care in our Ontario residences. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, implement and evaluate care plans, and communicate changes to residents and families.

You will mentor unregulated care providers and ensure accurate documentation. Applicants must hold an RPN license in Ontario, have strong clinical knowledge, and be comfortable with gerontology and long-term care.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and understanding of the demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months of hire or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• RPNs provide planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.
• RPNs are part of a multi-disciplinary team with communication across residents, families and staff.
• RPNs implement and evaluate care plans, making changes as required.
• RPNs complete resident clinical assessments, care plans and documentation accurately and timely.
• RPNs teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers with coaching and mentorship.

• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
