Job summary

Sienna Senior Living seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for an unscheduled part-time vacancy at Woods Park Community and Retirement in Ontario. You will provide nursing care per resident plans and physician orders, within the RPN scope, delivering compassionate personal care.

Reporting to the Director of Care, you will supervise Personal Support Workers, communicate with residents and families, and participate in admissions and status changes.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health experience is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
