Job summary

The Registered Practical Nurse under the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Department of Nursing functions as a member of the Women’s Health and Newborn Care Program in the 2 Fontbonne Clinic. Responsible to provide preventative educational and/or supportive care.

Basic knowledge decision making and communication techniques are employed in assessing planning and implementing nursing care.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• CPR certificate required.
• PALS and/or NRP certificate preferred.
• Breastfeeding Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years recent nursing experience in women’s health and newborn care or pediatrics.
• Preferred minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience in a high-volume outpatient clinic.
• Phlebotomy training and experience required.
• Knowledge of the Baby Friendly Initiative as it relates to nursing practice.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to prioritize, problem-solve and manage workload in a fast-paced clinic.
• Experience working as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
• Experience with computers, data entry and patient information system.
• Good attendance and work record.

• Must have a good attendance and work record
